Privacy policy

Last updated: September 30, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Pranos Inc. collects, uses and shares personal information when you:

  • visit or shop at pranos.ai;
  • use the PRANOS app for iPhone or Android;
  • use your HoloGlass;
  • use Pranos AI; or
  • contact us or join one of our programs.

We've tried to keep it plain and short. If anything is unclear, email us at support@pranos.ai. If you live outside the United States, please also read section 13, which explains your rights under the GDPR, the UK GDPR and other laws.

At a glance

What we collect

  • When you shop at pranos.ai. We collect your name, email, phone number, and shipping and billing addresses. We also collect your vehicle's year, make and model, so we can make your custom-fit screen, and what you buy. Your card details go straight to our payment providers, not to us.
  • When you browse pranos.ai. Cookies, pixels and scripts collect information about your visit. They come from companies including Shopify, Meta, UpPromote, NoFraud, Affirm, Afterpay and Chatra. Section 7 lists them all. Meta also uses what it collects for its own purposes, including advertising.
  • In the PRANOS app. You don't need an account. Most of what the app keeps stays on your phone. Photos, videos and signs you send to your HoloGlass go straight to it over the HoloGlass's own Wi-Fi, not to Pranos.
  • With Pranos AI. Pranos AI is optional, and nothing is sent until you tap Allow. After that, each request sends the following to our AI service, and through it to OpenAI:
    • the words you type or say;
    • the chat so far;
    • the sign you're changing;
    • any saved "My details" that match words in your message, such as "Instagram," "website," "QR code" or "phone" (see 3.6); and
    • a random ID for your copy of the app. OpenAI gets only a scrambled version of it.
  • Pranos AI never receives your photos. A photo you add to a sign stays on your phone until you show that sign on your HoloGlass.
  • Behind the scenes in the app:
    • Each time you open the app, it asks Expo, our app-update service, whether there's an update.
    • On iPhone, the app checks with Google about once a minute whether the internet is reachable.
    • On Android, Google's code-scanning tool (ML Kit) sends Google technical and usage information for Google's own diagnostics and analytics.
    • When you use the mic, Apple, Google or your keyboard's provider may process your voice to turn it into text.

What we don't do

  • The current app has no accounts and no ads, and it doesn't use advertising IDs. It doesn't include advertising or third-party analytics tools, and it doesn't read your GPS location. Expo, our app-update service, counts launches and devices when the app checks for updates, and our AI service keeps technical logs (see 3.4 and 3.6). Some tools built into the app do contact their providers (see "Behind the scenes" above).
  • Pranos doesn't receive the photos, videos or voice recordings you use in the app.
  • Our AI service doesn't save your requests or the signs it makes, but OpenAI may keep them for up to 30 days to check for abuse. Our service keeps technical logs for 30 days. If you report a sign, those logs keep your note and the sign's words.
  • Pranos doesn't use your personal information to train AI models, and we don't sell it for that purpose.
  • We don't sell your personal information for money. However, some US state laws count the advertising tools on our website, from Meta, as "selling" or "sharing," and we treat them that way. You can opt out.

Your key choices

  • Opt out of selling, sharing and targeted ads. Use the Your Privacy Choices link at the bottom of pranos.ai (https://pranos.ai/pages/data-sharing-opt-out), or turn on Global Privacy Control in your browser (section 6).
  • Cookies in Europe. If you're in the European Economic Area (EEA), the UK or Switzerland, we ask for your consent before using cookies and similar tools that aren't needed to run our store (section 7).
  • Pranos AI is optional. Turn it on or off in the app under Settings › Pranos AI. You can still report a sign while Pranos AI is off.
  • Delete what's on your HoloGlass before you forget it or delete the app. Delete items from your HoloGlass in the app. Deleting the app only removes what's on your phone.
  • See, correct or delete your information. Use the contact form at https://pranos.ai/pages/contact, or email support@pranos.ai, and include the words "Privacy request" (section 10, or section 13 if you live outside the US).

A heads-up about your HoloGlass

With today's HoloGlass software, anyone nearby can join your HoloGlass's Wi-Fi using the code shown on its screen, or reach it at close range in other ways. They can then see, download, change or delete what's stored on it. The connection between your phone and your HoloGlass isn't encrypted. Videos also keep any location details your camera saved in them. Send only what you'd be comfortable showing in public, delete what you don't need, and turn your HoloGlass off when you're not using it. See Your HoloGlass (section 3.5).

1. Who we are and how to reach us

Pranos Inc. ("Pranos," "we," "us") is a Delaware corporation based in San Francisco, California. We make:

  • HoloGlass, a display for your vehicle's windows;
  • the PRANOS app; and
  • Pranos AI.

We also run our online store at pranos.ai. Pranos is the business responsible for your personal information under this policy. Laws such as the GDPR call this the "controller."

Contact:

If you live outside the US, section 13 explains how to reach us and, where they apply, our representatives.

2. What this policy covers

This policy covers:

  • the pranos.ai website and store;
  • the PRANOS app, current and earlier versions (section 3.7 describes the earlier versions);
  • Pranos AI;
  • the PRANOS software on your HoloGlass; and
  • how we handle orders, support, and our affiliate and Ad Drop programs.

It doesn't cover other companies' websites, apps or services, even when we link to them or use them. Examples include Shopify's Shop app, Meta, PayPal, Affirm, Afterpay, OpenAI, Apple, Google and your phone's own services. Their own privacy policies apply to what they do. Section 5 explains what we require of companies that receive information from the PRANOS app.

3. What we collect and why

3.1 When you shop at pranos.ai

What you give us:

  • Your name, email address, phone number, and shipping and billing addresses.
  • Your vehicle's year, make and model and the window you choose, so we can make your custom-fit screen. The product page has a required short text field for this. What you enter stays with the item in your cart and your order.
  • What you buy, prices, discount codes, order notes, returns and warranty claims.
  • If you create a customer account on our store: your email address (you sign in with a one-time code), your saved addresses and your order history.

Payments. You enter card, wallet or financing details directly with our payment providers. Depending on what's offered at checkout, these may include Shopify Payments and Shop Pay, PayPal, digital wallets such as Apple Pay and Google Pay, Affirm and Afterpay. We see only limited details, such as the payment type, the last four digits of a card and whether the payment went through. If you pay with PayPal, or apply for financing with Affirm or Afterpay, that company collects what it needs under its own terms and privacy policy.

Fraud prevention. Our fraud-prevention provider, NoFraud, runs a script on our pages that collects your IP address, browser and device details. It also uses a device-recognition service from MaxMind, which sets a device identifier. At checkout, NoFraud screens your order and payment details automatically. An order that looks risky may be held for review or cancelled. If you think that happened by mistake, contact us and a person will review it.

Why we use this information:

  • to process, make, ship and support your order;
  • to send order and shipping updates;
  • to handle returns and warranty claims;
  • to prevent fraud;
  • to keep business and tax records; and
  • to meet our legal obligations.

If you agree to receive marketing emails, for example at checkout, we also use your email address to send you news and offers. You can unsubscribe at any time.

Shop and Shopify. If you have a Shop account, Shopify may recognize you on our site to speed up checkout. Shop's own privacy policy applies to that. Shopify may also use some information from our store for its own purposes, under its own privacy policy. You can read Shopify's Consumer Privacy Policy at https://www.shopify.com/legal/privacy/app-users, and make requests about Shopify's own use of your information at https://privacy.shopify.com.

3.2 When you browse pranos.ai (cookies, pixels and similar tools)

Like most online stores, our site uses cookies, pixels, browser storage and scripts. Some are Shopify's. Others come from companies whose tools we've added. Some of them load as soon as you open a page. Section 7 explains your choices, including consent for visitors in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland.

Together they collect:

  • the pages and products you view;
  • searches on our site;
  • items you add to your cart, and your purchases;
  • how you arrived (the referring page);
  • your IP address, and your approximate location based on it;
  • your browser and device details; and
  • cookie and device identifiers.

Here's what each tool does.

Shopify runs the store: cart, checkout, security and store analytics.

NoFraud and MaxMind help prevent fraud (see 3.1).

Affirm and Afterpay show pay-over-time offers on our pages. Their tools may use analytics services, such as Amplitude and Statsig.

Meta Pixel and Meta Conversions API. These tools tell Meta, the company behind Facebook and Instagram, when you:

  • view pages and products;
  • search our site (including what you searched for);
  • add to your cart;
  • start checkout or add payment information; and
  • buy (including the order value and whether you're a new or returning customer).

At checkout they also send Meta your email address, phone number, name, city, state, ZIP code, country and Shopify customer number in scrambled (hashed) form. They send these both from your browser and from Shopify's servers. Meta uses them to match you to a Facebook or Instagram account. Hashing doesn't make this anonymous, because matching is the point. We use Meta's tools to measure our ads and to show ads to people who may be interested. Meta also uses this information for its own purposes, under its own policies.

UpPromote runs our affiliate program. It sets a cookie on every visit, not only when you arrive through an affiliate's link. Its pixel receives store events, and it has access to customers' email, phone and address details, so we can credit affiliates for the sales they refer.

Chatra provides the live chat on our site (see 3.3). Through its Shopify integration, Chatra also receives the items in your cart and your cart total.

YouTube (Google) provides the videos on our setup-guide page. They're privacy-enhanced embeds (from youtube-nocookie.com) that load as you scroll to them, so Google sees your IP address and browser details.

Section 7 lists the cookies. Section 6 explains how to opt out of selling, sharing and targeted ads.

Tracking across sites. Meta and other companies whose tools run on our site may collect information about your online activity over time and across different websites.

3.3 When you contact us

When you email, call or text us, chat with us on our website, use our contact form or get setup help, we collect:

  • your name and contact details;
  • what you tell us; and
  • anything you send, such as an order number, or photos or a short video of a problem (we ask for these with warranty claims). Photos and videos may include the location your camera saved in them.

Chat. When you use live chat, Chatra receives your messages, any name or email you give, and details of the page you're on: its address, its title and the page you came from. Through its Shopify integration, it also receives the items in your cart and your cart total.

Calls and texts. We use phone, text-message and email service providers to handle these conversations. We don't record support calls. If you text us, we use your number and messages to reply and to keep a record of your request. We don't send marketing text messages.

App diagnostics log. You might send us the PRANOS app's diagnostics log (see 3.4). If you do, we receive what's in it:

  • connection steps and your HoloGlass's ID;
  • Wi-Fi network names and IP addresses;
  • the names and sizes of files you sent, including sign names, which are made from a sign's first words;
  • technical details about Pranos AI requests and voice use, including the reference numbers of your Pranos AI requests and reports, and the reason a request was declined;
  • error messages; and
  • your phone's operating system and app version.

The log is designed to leave out the words you type or say to Pranos AI, your HoloGlass's Wi-Fi password and your Pranos AI install ID. The reference numbers in it match entries in our AI service's logs. If you send us the log, we can use them to find those entries, for example to help with a problem (see section 10).

We use this information to help you, handle returns and warranty claims, and improve our products and support.

3.4 The PRANOS app

The app connects your phone to your HoloGlass. It sends the HoloGlass photos, videos, GIFs and signs, and it lets you make signs yourself or with Pranos AI. The current app has no accounts or sign-in and no advertising, and it doesn't use an advertising ID or track you across apps. It doesn't include advertising or third-party analytics tools. Expo, our app-update service, counts launches and devices when the app checks for updates, and our AI service keeps technical logs (see 3.4 and 3.6). Some tools built into the app do contact their providers, as described below.

Permissions the app asks for, and why

  • Camera. To scan the pairing code shown on your HoloGlass.
    • The app reads the code on your phone. It doesn't save or send camera images.
    • On Android, the scanner uses Google's ML Kit, which reads the code on your phone. ML Kit also sends Google technical information for Google's own diagnostics and usage analytics. This includes device and app details, an identifier, how the scanner is set up and how it performed, event types and error codes. Google's disclosure doesn't list camera images among the information it collects. See Google's ML Kit data disclosure at https://developers.google.com/ml-kit/android-data-disclosure.
    • You can type the code instead of scanning it.
  • Photos and videos. The app uses your phone's system photo picker. It gets only the items you pick, up to 10 at a time, and doesn't ask for access to your whole photo library.
  • Microphone and speech recognition. Only while you hold or tap the mic to speak a sign idea: up to 30 seconds holding, or 60 seconds tapping. See "If you speak your idea" in 3.6.
  • Local network and Wi-Fi. To join your HoloGlass's Wi-Fi network and talk to it. The app checks the name of the Wi-Fi network your phone is on, and its local network address, so it knows whether you're connected to your HoloGlass. It doesn't list other nearby networks.
  • Location (Android only). The Wi-Fi tools the app uses need precise location permission, with Location turned on, for two things: joining your HoloGlass's Wi-Fi, and reading the name of the Wi-Fi network your phone is on. Android treats Wi-Fi names as location information. The app uses this permission only for those two things. It doesn't read your GPS position, and it can't use location in the background. The iPhone app never asks for your location.
  • Clipboard. The app reads your clipboard only when you tap Paste GIF, and then it only reads a GIF. On iPhone you'll see a "paste" prompt. Diagnostics › Copy puts the log on your clipboard, so you can paste it wherever you choose.

The current app doesn't use Bluetooth, contacts, calendars, health data, biometrics or push notifications.

What the app keeps on your phone

The app keeps the following on your phone, where Pranos can't see it:

  • Your HoloGlass pairing: the HoloGlass's ID (the pairing code shown in Settings is worked out from this ID), and its Wi-Fi network name, address and password. The password is normally kept in your phone's secure storage: the iOS Keychain, or encrypted with a key in the Android Keystore. If secure storage isn't available, the app keeps the password with the rest of the pairing in its own storage.
  • the name you gave your HoloGlass and the window it's on;
  • the date and time you agreed to our Terms;
  • signs you make, including their photos. Photos are saved as new copies without camera details;
  • a list of what you've sent to your HoloGlass, with small preview images;
  • your Pranos AI chat (the last 60 messages), with its photos and pictures;
  • your Pranos AI answer (Allow or Not now), your Pranos AI install ID and your saved My details;
  • your settings, such as Express, Classic or Premium, Parked or Driving, and Auto-play on HoloGlass; and
  • a diagnostics log of the app's last 600 technical events (see 3.3). You can view, copy or clear it in Settings › Diagnostics. It isn't uploaded automatically, and we see it only if you send it to us.

How long it stays. Everything stays until you delete it:

  • New chat clears your Pranos AI chat and its photos and pictures.
  • Your Pranos AI answer stays until you change it in Settings.
  • Your AI install ID stays until you delete the app. Turning Pranos AI off or starting a new chat doesn't change it.
  • You can delete signs, clear the diagnostics log and clear My details.
  • Forget this HoloGlass removes the pairing, its password and the list of what you sent. It doesn't delete what's on the HoloGlass.
  • Deleting the app removes what the app kept on your phone, with one possible exception: on iPhone, your HoloGlass's Wi-Fi password may stay in your iPhone's Keychain. To remove it, tap Forget this HoloGlass before you delete the app. Deleting the app doesn't delete what's on your HoloGlass.

Backups. The Android app turns off cloud backup of its data. On some Android phones, though, moving to a new phone may still copy the app's data, including your AI install ID, My details, chat and signs. On iPhone, your own backups (to iCloud or a computer) may include the app's data, under your Apple account.

What leaves your phone, and where it goes

Your HoloGlass, over its own Wi-Fi. This isn't sent to Pranos.

  • What: photos, as new copies without camera details such as location; videos, exactly as they are; GIFs; signs, including any photo you put on them; file names (a sign is named after its first words); and play and delete commands.
  • When: when you send content, when you tap Play on HoloGlass or Auto-play sends a sign, and when you control playback.
  • Why: to show your content.
  • Note: this connection isn't encrypted, and others nearby can reach what's stored on your HoloGlass (see 3.5).

Our AI service on Amazon Web Services (AWS), and OpenAI.

  • What: your Pranos AI request (see 3.6).
  • When: only after you tap Allow, each time you send a request.
  • Why: to make your sign.

Our AI service on AWS.

  • What: a report about a sign (see 3.6).
  • When: only when you tap Report. This works even while Pranos AI is turned off.
  • Why: so we can review the sign.

Expo (our app-update service).

  • What: a random ID that Expo's software stores on your phone; your phone's platform; the app's version and update details; your IP address; and, if the app has failed to start because of an error, a short description of that error (up to about 1,000 characters).
  • When: each time you open the app.
  • Why: to check for and deliver app updates. Expo also counts how many devices receive updates.

Google (iPhone only).

  • What: an empty request to Google's connectivity-check address (clients3.google.com). The request itself says nothing about you, but Google sees your IP address and basic app details.
  • When: about once a minute while the app is open, and about every 5 seconds while you're offline.
  • Why: to know whether you can reach the internet, because the HoloGlass's Wi-Fi has none.

Google ML Kit (Android only).

  • What: the technical information described under "Camera" above.
  • When: when you use the code scanner. Google may send it later.
  • Why: Google's own diagnostics and usage analytics.

Apple, Google, your phone maker or your keyboard's provider.

  • What: your voice, and hint words from My details (see 3.6).
  • When: while you use the mic, or your keyboard's dictation.
  • Why: to turn speech into text.

Your browser, email or phone app.

  • What: whatever those apps send.
  • When: when you tap a link to our Privacy Policy, Terms or Safety pages, or to email or call support.
  • Why: to show a page or contact us. Our website's cookies and pixels apply in your browser (see 3.2).

Anyone you choose.

  • What: the diagnostics log.
  • When: only if you copy it and share it.
  • Why: for example, to get support.

Crash reports (turned off today). The app includes Sentry's crash-reporting tool, but it's turned off. If we turn it on, crash reports would include technical details about the crash, your phone's model and operating system, and the app's version and update. On Android, they would also include Sentry's own identifier for the installation. We've set Sentry up to leave out your name, what you write, screenshots and your activity in the app. We'll update this policy, and the app's store privacy details, before we turn it on.

App stores. Apple and Google deliver the app. They may give us statistics and crash reports about the app from people who agreed, in their phone settings, to share them with app developers.

3.5 Your HoloGlass

How it connects. Your phone connects to your HoloGlass directly, over the HoloGlass's own Wi-Fi network, which isn't connected to the internet. Older HoloGlass kits with a separate media player, which earlier versions of the app control (see 3.7), also connect directly to your phone, over Bluetooth and the player's own Wi-Fi.

What your HoloGlass keeps:

  • the photos, videos, GIFs and signs you send it;
  • their names. For a photo or video, the app uses your phone's file name (such as "IMG_1234") or a dated name. A sign is named after its first words, up to 40 characters;
  • small preview images;
  • its playlist; and
  • its own ID.

They're stored on the HoloGlass (on its USB drive or internal storage) until you delete them in the app. Using Forget this HoloGlass or deleting the app doesn't delete them.

What it sends. The PRANOS software on your HoloGlass doesn't connect to the internet. It doesn't send your content, or how you use it, to Pranos, and we don't access what's on your HoloGlass remotely. It does share what's stored on it with any device that connects to it (see "Security today" below).

Your HoloGlass's hardware also runs software from its manufacturer, which may include other apps. If you use those apps or connect the HoloGlass to the internet, their providers' policies apply.

Location and other details in your files. Before a photo leaves your phone, the app saves a new copy without the extra details cameras store, such as where the photo was taken. Videos are sent exactly as they are, so they may still contain details such as when and where they were recorded. Those details stay on your HoloGlass with the video.

Security today. Please read this part carefully.

  • The current HoloGlass software doesn't protect what's stored on it from people nearby.
  • While your HoloGlass is waiting for content, its screen faces out of your window and shows a pairing code. Any phone can use that code to join the HoloGlass's Wi-Fi.
  • Your phone and HoloGlass talk without encryption on that network.
  • Anyone who joins your HoloGlass's Wi-Fi, or reaches it another way at close range, can see, download, change or delete what's stored on it.

We're working on a software update to improve HoloGlass security, and we'll update this section when it's available. Until then:

  • send only content you'd be comfortable showing in public;
  • delete items you no longer need; and
  • turn your HoloGlass off when you're not using it.

Selling or returning a HoloGlass. Before you sell, give away or return a HoloGlass, delete what's on it in the app. If you return a HoloGlass to us, delete your content first.

3.6 Pranos AI

Pranos AI is an optional part of the app that designs a sign from what you describe. Nothing is sent to Pranos AI until you tap Allow on the Pranos AI permission screen. You can change your answer at any time in Settings › Pranos AI. If we make a material change to what Pranos AI sends or who receives it, we'll update this policy and ask you again in the app before the change applies to you. Pranos AI uses your phone's internet connection, which is often mobile data, because the HoloGlass's Wi-Fi has no internet.

What the app sends to our AI service

  • The words you type or say, up to 500 characters a message.
  • Up to the last 20 messages in the chat, yours and Pranos AI's.
  • The sign you're changing: its words, colors, fonts, layout, stickers and any QR-code link, but not its photo.
  • Whether a photo is attached, and its shape. Not the photo itself.
  • The quality you pick (Express, Classic or Premium).
  • Saved My details that match words in your message. The app checks the words of your message and sends a saved detail when those words may refer to it. For example:
    • "Instagram," "IG," "TikTok," "socials," "handle" or "follow us" sends your handles;
    • "website," "site," "link," "URL" or "online" sends your website;
    • "QR" or "scan" sends your Instagram, TikTok and website together;
    • "phone," "cell," "mobile," "call us," "text us" or "my number" sends your phone number; and
    • "my shop," "our store," "grand opening" or "now open" sends your business name.
  • This matching can send a detail even when you didn't mean it to go on the sign. For example, "Mobile dog grooming, 20% off" sends your saved phone number. If you don't want a detail sent, don't save it in My details.
  • The AI install ID, a random ID the app creates the first time you use Pranos AI or report a sign.
    • It isn't based on your name, your phone number or your phone.
    • Deleting the app deletes it, and reinstalling the app makes a new one. It may come back if you restore your iPhone from a backup or move to a new Android phone.
    • Starting a new chat or turning Pranos AI off doesn't change it.
    • The app doesn't show it to you today.
  • As with any internet request, your IP address and basic technical details about the app and your phone.

Where it goes

Our AI service runs on Amazon Web Services (AWS) in the United States (Virginia). When it receives your request, it immediately turns your AI install ID into a scrambled version (a salted hash). It then uses OpenAI, our AI provider, for four steps:

  1. Check your request with OpenAI's moderation tools. This step uses your new message and your last three messages. It never uses your My details.
  2. Design the sign. This step uses your request and the earlier messages; the sign you're changing, and any links; the My details that matched your words; and, for a photo, only the word "portrait," "landscape" or "square."
  3. Paint a background picture. New signs at Classic or Premium get one by default, unless you add a photo or your monthly picture allowance has run out. You can also ask for one. OpenAI first reads your request and the chat so far and writes a short description of the picture. It then paints the picture from that description.
  4. Check the finished sign and picture before they reach you.

We send OpenAI the scrambled ID so it can spot misuse coming from one copy of the app without blocking everyone. OpenAI says it may permanently block an ID that seriously breaks its rules. If that happens, Pranos AI would stop working in that copy of the app. We don't send OpenAI your IP address, your photos or the unscrambled ID.

What OpenAI keeps

OpenAI states that:

  • it doesn't use data sent through its API to train or improve its models unless the customer explicitly opts in to share that data with OpenAI; and
  • it keeps abuse-monitoring logs, which can include requests and responses, for up to 30 days, unless the law requires it to keep them longer or keeping them is reasonably necessary to protect its services or others from harm.

Our requests ask OpenAI not to store them for later retrieval, and OpenAI says it doesn't keep abuse-monitoring logs of its moderation checks. You can read OpenAI's description of how it handles API data at https://developers.openai.com/api/docs/guides/your-data.

Pranos AI never receives your photos

Photos you add to a Pranos AI chat aren't sent to Pranos or OpenAI. Pranos AI is told only that a photo is attached and what shape it is, so it can lay out the sign. Your phone then puts the photo into the design. When you show the sign on your HoloGlass, the sign, including your photo, is sent to your HoloGlass (see 3.5).

If you speak your idea

When you use the mic, your phone's speech-recognition service turns your voice into text. Pranos doesn't receive your voice, only the text.

The app then sends the text to Pranos AI as your message by itself. It does this when you let go of the mic, or, in tap mode, after about 10 seconds with no new words. You don't get a chance to review the text first, and the mic may also pick up other voices nearby, such as a passenger's. If you want to check the words before they're sent, type your request instead.

  • iPhone. The app asks your iPhone to recognize speech on the phone when it can. If on-device recognition isn't supported, or isn't available at that moment, Apple's speech service processes your voice on Apple's servers.
  • Android. The app uses your phone's default speech service, which is usually Google's and sometimes your phone maker's. That service may send your voice to its servers.
  • Keyboard dictation. If speech recognition isn't available, the app opens your keyboard so you can use its dictation instead. Your keyboard's provider handles that.
  • Hint words. Each time you use the mic, the app gives your phone's speech service your saved Instagram and TikTok handles, website address and business name as hint words, so it recognizes them better. It doesn't give your phone number.

Apple's, Google's, your phone maker's and your keyboard provider's privacy policies cover their speech services.

My details

In Settings › My details you can save your Instagram and TikTok handles, website, business name and phone number, so Pranos AI can put them on signs. They're saved on your phone.

When the words of your message may refer to a saved detail, the app sends that detail to our AI service (see the list above). Our service checks the words the same way and passes only the matching details to OpenAI to design the sign. Our logs record only which kinds of detail were used, not what you saved.

Please save only your own details, or details you have permission to use.

Automatic checks

To keep signs suitable for public display and prevent misuse, Pranos AI checks requests and results automatically, using OpenAI's moderation tools and our own rules. It may decline a request or change part of it. Examples include content that's explicit, hateful or illegal, political content, and content that looks like a police or emergency message. These checks only affect whether and how Pranos AI makes a sign. They don't make decisions about you that have legal or similarly significant effects. If you think a check got it wrong, you can make the sign yourself in Create, or tell us.

Please don't include sensitive information, such as health details, in a Pranos AI request. The same goes for other people's private information unless you have their permission.

Report this sign

If you tap Report on a sign, the app sends our AI service:

  • the reason you pick;
  • your note (up to 500 characters);
  • the sign's words;
  • the app version;
  • the reference number of that answer; and
  • your AI install ID.

Our service keeps the report, including your note and the sign's words, in its logs for 30 days so we can review it. Reports aren't sent to OpenAI and never include photos. You can report a sign even while Pranos AI is turned off. Our log system can't delete a single report before the 30 days end (see section 10).

What we keep, and for how long

  • Your requests and signs. Our service uses them to answer you and doesn't save them. The pictures it paints go to your phone, and the service doesn't keep a copy. OpenAI's retention is described above.
  • Service logs (30 days). For each request, the logs record:
    • the time, how long the request took, a reference number and the result;
    • the first 12 characters of your scrambled ID;
    • the quality you picked, and the length and number of your messages;
    • whether a photo was attached;
    • which kinds of My details were used (not what they contain);
    • the number of links;
    • whether the request looks like a memorial or tribute sign;
    • codes for the checks and design choices applied, such as the font style asked for, the result of our trademark and impersonation check, and which filters ran; and
    • if a request was declined, the category of reason, such as "sexual" or "political."
  • The logs are designed to leave out what you wrote and the sign's words (reports, above, are the exception), your saved details, your IP address and the unscrambled ID. Log entries are deleted automatically after 30 days. Our log system can't delete single entries sooner.
  • Monthly allowance. To apply the monthly limits, our service counts how many signs and pictures each scrambled ID makes in the current month. The counts start over each month. We keep them only in the service's temporary memory, not in our logs or a database.
  • IP address. We use your IP address only to stop too many requests in a short time. Our service keeps it only in temporary memory. It isn't written to our logs or a database, or sent to OpenAI. It's erased when that part of our service shuts down.
  • On your phone. New chat clears your chat and its photos and pictures. Your Pranos AI answer stays until you change it in Settings. Your AI install ID stays until you delete the app.

AI training

Pranos doesn't use your Pranos AI requests, the signs it makes or your other personal information to train AI models, including large language models, and we don't sell your personal information for that purpose. OpenAI's own statement about training is described above, under "What OpenAI keeps."

If we change AI providers

Before we send your requests to a different AI provider, we'll update this policy and ask your permission again in the app.

3.7 Earlier versions of the PRANOS app

Earlier versions of the PRANOS app (before version 3.0) let you create an account. They also controlled older HoloGlass kits over Bluetooth and the kit's Wi-Fi.

Depending on the version and what you entered, those accounts could hold:

  • your username, email address and password (stored in scrambled form);
  • if you gave them, your full name, country code, gender and age; and
  • bug reports you sent (your phone's operating system, app version and message) and, in some versions, information about your files and playlists.

Some earlier versions may also have included Segment, an analytics service run by Twilio, which may have sent Segment information about how you used the app.

We still hold these older accounts with Amazon Web Services in the United States. The current app doesn't use them. To have your account deleted, email support@pranos.ai.

3.8 Our programs and social media

Affiliate program. UpPromote runs our affiliate program. If you apply, UpPromote collects:

  • your name, email address and a password for your affiliate account;
  • later, your payout details and, where the law requires it, tax information; and
  • the sales credited to your link.

We use these to run the program and pay commissions.

Ad Drops. To apply for an Ad Drop, you use our Google Form, which requires you to sign in to Google. We collect the information you enter in the form, which may include your name, contact details, and details about your HoloGlass, your vehicle and your area. If you take part, we also collect:

  • the video you record of the activation, which may show people nearby and may include the location your camera saved; and
  • what we need to pay you, which may include payment details and, where the law requires it, tax information.

We use the footage to review and pay for the drop. If we'd like to use it in Pranos's marketing, we'll ask your permission first.

Social media. If you interact with us on TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn or another network, we may see your public profile and the messages you send us. That network's policy applies.

3.9 Information from other sources

We also receive information from:

  • payment and financing providers (whether a payment went through);
  • NoFraud (a fraud assessment of your order);
  • shipping carriers (delivery status);
  • UpPromote (which affiliate referred a sale);
  • Shopify and Shop (for example, if Shop recognizes you); and
  • Meta and our other tools (reports on how our ads and site perform, mostly as totals).

4. How we use information

We use personal information to:

  • Provide our products. Process, make, ship and support orders; run the app's features; connect you to your HoloGlass; make signs with Pranos AI.
  • Support you. Answer questions, handle returns and warranty claims, and troubleshoot.
  • Keep things safe. Prevent fraud, abuse and misuse, including Pranos AI rate limits, monthly allowances and automatic checks. Protect our systems and users.
  • Deliver app updates and fix problems.
  • Understand and improve our site and products, using site analytics (see 3.2) and the technical details in our AI service's logs.
  • Market to you. Send marketing emails if you agreed (you can unsubscribe at any time), and measure and target our ads (see section 6).
  • Run our programs (affiliate and Ad Drops).
  • Meet legal obligations, keep business and tax records, resolve disputes and enforce our terms.
  • Other purposes we describe when we collect the information, or with your permission.

If we make information de-identified, we'll keep it that way and won't try to re-identify it, except as the law allows.

If you live in the EEA, the UK, Switzerland, Brazil or another place whose law requires it, section 13 lists the legal basis for each of these uses.

5. Who we share it with

Service providers

We use other companies to run our business. They handle personal information for us, and our agreements with them limit how they can use it.

  • Store and checkout: Shopify (including Shop Pay and customer accounts).
  • Payments and financing: Shopify Payments and Shop Pay, PayPal, Affirm and Afterpay, as offered at checkout. PayPal, Affirm and Afterpay also have their own relationship with you when you use them.
  • Fraud prevention: NoFraud and MaxMind.
  • Shipping and fulfillment: shipping carriers, and partners that help make and ship your order. These may receive your name, shipping address, phone number and vehicle details.
  • Email and business tools: Google Workspace (our email).
  • Chat and support: Chatra, and our phone and text-message providers.
  • Website analytics: Shopify analytics, and analytics services used by our payment-messaging tools, such as Amplitude and Statsig.
  • Affiliate program: UpPromote.
  • Forms: Google Forms (Ad Drop applications).
  • Cloud hosting and AI:
    • Amazon Web Services hosts Pranos AI and its logs. It also hosts the accounts from earlier app versions.
    • OpenAI is our AI provider for Pranos AI (see 3.6).
  • App updates: Expo (650 Industries).
  • Crash reporting: Sentry, only if we turn it on (see 3.4).
  • Professional advisers: lawyers, accountants and auditors.

Information from the app. We require the companies that receive personal information from the PRANOS app to provide services to us to protect it in line with this policy. These are Amazon Web Services, OpenAI and Expo, and Sentry if we turn it on.

Advertising and marketing partners

  • Meta (the Meta Pixel and Conversions API) receives information about your activity on our site, as described in 3.2.
  • Meta may also use it for its own purposes, such as ad targeting, building profiles and improving its services, under its own policies.
  • Section 6 explains how to opt out.

Platform services that act on their own

When you use your phone's features, the platform companies handle some information under their own policies. This includes:

  • Apple (speech recognition on iPhone, and the App Store);
  • Google (speech recognition on many Android phones; ML Kit's diagnostics and usage analytics; the iPhone connectivity check; and YouTube, for the privacy-enhanced videos on our setup-guide page);
  • your phone's maker, if its speech service is your default; and
  • your keyboard's provider, if you use its dictation.

Other sharing

  • Legal reasons. When we believe it's required by law or legal process, or needed to protect the rights, property or safety of Pranos, our customers or others, or to enforce our terms.
  • Business changes. As part of a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of all or part of our business. We'll require the new owner to protect your information as this policy describes.
  • With your permission, or when you ask us to share something.

6. Selling, sharing and targeted advertising

What happens. We don't sell your personal information for money. But some tools on our website let Meta collect information about your visit and purchases and use it for its own purposes, including advertising. Those tools are the Meta Pixel and Meta's Conversions API.

Under California law and some other state laws, this counts as "selling" or "sharing" personal information, or as "targeted advertising." We treat it that way.

What was made available. In the past 12 months, we've made these categories of personal information available this way:

Company Categories of personal information
Meta Identifiers: cookie IDs, IP address, and, in scrambled form, your email address, phone number, name and Shopify customer number. Commercial information: products you viewed, added to your cart or bought, and order value. Internet activity: pages you visited and searches on our site. Approximate location: city, state, ZIP code and country from checkout.
Mailchimp (Intuit), an email and marketing tool we've since stopped using Identifiers: cookie IDs, IP address, and, in scrambled form, your email address and phone number. Commercial information: products you viewed or added to your cart. Internet activity: pages you visited. Approximate location: from your IP address.
Microsoft, through a website analytics tool we've since removed Identifiers: cookie IDs and IP address. Internet activity: pages you visited on our site and how you interacted with them. Device information. Approximate location: from your IP address.

How to opt out:

How the opt-out works:

  • An opt-out through the link or GPC applies to the browser you use. If we know who you are, for example from your email address, we'll also apply it to your information in our records.
  • After you opt out, we stop selling or sharing your personal information through these tools for that browser.
  • You don't need an account to opt out, and we won't ask you to verify your identity for it.

The app and minors:

  • Apart from Google's ML Kit diagnostics on Android, which some US state laws may treat as "sharing" (see 3.4), the PRANOS app doesn't sell or share your information, and it doesn't do targeted advertising.
  • We don't knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 18, or use it for targeted advertising.

Do Not Track. Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" signal. There's no common standard for how websites should respond to it, so our site doesn't respond to it. We honor Global Privacy Control as described above.

7. Cookies and similar technologies

Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. Pixels, scripts and browser storage work in similar ways. Here's what runs on pranos.ai. We update this list when we add or remove a tool.

  • Shopify store, run by Shopify. For: cart, checkout, currency, security, Shopify's bot protection on forms (hCaptcha) and store analytics. Examples: _shopify_y, cart_currency, localization and checkout cookies. Type: needed to run the store; analytics.
  • Shop, run by Shopify. For: recognizing Shop users for faster checkout. Examples: Shop sign-in cookies. Type: functional.
  • NoFraud, with MaxMind, run by NoFraud and MaxMind. For: fraud prevention and device recognition. Examples: nf28191_services_exp, __mmapiwsid. Type: security.
  • Affirm, run by Affirm. For: pay-over-time offers. Examples: Affirm's cookies and browser storage. Type: functional.
  • Afterpay, with Amplitude and Statsig, run by Afterpay (part of Block), Amplitude and Statsig. For: pay-over-time messages on product pages; analytics. Examples: apt_pixel, amp_ cookies and browser storage. Type: functional; analytics.
  • Meta Pixel and Conversions API, run by Meta. For: ad measurement and targeting. Examples: _fbp. Type: advertising (treated as selling or sharing).
  • UpPromote, run by UpPromote (Secomapp). For: crediting affiliates. Examples: _up_clid, set on every visit. Type: affiliate marketing.
  • Chatra, run by Chatra. For: live chat (its Shopify integration also receives your cart items and cart total). Examples: browser storage (chat visitor ID, last page view, referrer). Type: functional.
  • YouTube, run by Google. For: the privacy-enhanced (youtube-nocookie.com) videos on our setup-guide page, which load as you scroll to them. Examples: cookies or browser storage YouTube's player may set; Google sees your IP address and browser details. Type: functional.

Your cookie choices:

  • Browser settings. You can block or delete cookies in your browser's settings. Some parts of our store, like the cart and checkout, need cookies to work.
  • Opt out of selling, sharing and targeted ads. Use Your Privacy Choices (https://pranos.ai/pages/data-sharing-opt-out) or GPC (section 6).
  • EEA, UK and Switzerland. If you visit from these places, our cookie banner asks for your consent before we use cookies and similar tools that aren't needed to run the store, such as analytics, advertising and marketing tools. You can accept or decline. To change your choice later, delete pranos.ai's cookies in your browser so the banner asks again, or contact us.
  • Ad preferences. You can change your ad preferences in your Meta account settings. You can also use the industry opt-out tools at https://optout.aboutads.info and https://thenai.org/how-to-opt-out/, or, in Europe, https://www.youronlinechoices.eu. Other organizations run these tools, and they may not cover every tool on our site.

8. How long we keep information

We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes in this policy. Then we delete it or make it de-identified. We may keep information longer when the law requires it, or to resolve disputes, prevent fraud or enforce our agreements. Where we can't give a fixed period, the table explains how we decide.

Information How long
Orders, payments (limited details), returns and warranty records As long as we need them to fulfil and support your order, including during any warranty period, and then as long as tax, accounting and other laws require us to keep business records
Store customer accounts Until you delete your account or ask us to, then as for orders
Support emails, chats, texts, contact-form messages, and warranty photos and videos As long as we need them to help you and to handle any related return, warranty claim or dispute
Marketing email list Until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. We keep a record that you unsubscribed so we don't email you again.
Shopify store analytics As long as Shopify keeps them for our store's reports
Meta advertising data Meta keeps what its tools collect under its own policies. We keep any ad audiences we create with Meta's tools only while we use them for our advertising.
Affiliate records While you take part in the program, then as long as we need them to pay commissions and meet tax, accounting and legal requirements
Ad Drop applications, footage and payout records Applications: as long as we need them to review applications and plan drops. Footage and payout records: as long as we need them to review and pay for the drop and meet tax, accounting and legal requirements, or longer if you've agreed that we can use the footage in our marketing
Pranos AI requests and signs Not saved by our service. OpenAI states it may keep them for up to 30 days (see 3.6).
Pranos AI service logs, including reports 30 days, then deleted automatically. Our log system can't delete single entries sooner.
Pranos AI monthly counts Only in the service's temporary memory. Counts start over each month.
IP addresses used for Pranos AI rate limits Only in temporary memory, until that part of our service shuts down
App update checks (Expo) As set by Expo, our app-update provider, for its update service
On your phone Until you delete it in the app or delete the app. On iPhone, the HoloGlass Wi-Fi password may stay in your Keychain after you delete the app (see 3.4). The AI chat keeps its last 60 messages, and the diagnostics log keeps its last 600 events.
On your HoloGlass Until you delete it in the app. Forgetting the HoloGlass or deleting the app doesn't delete it.
Accounts from earlier app versions Until you ask us to delete your account, or until we shut down the old account service and delete its data
Records of privacy requests 24 months

9. How we protect information

We use safeguards designed to protect personal information. For example:

  • The app talks to Pranos AI and to Expo over encrypted connections (HTTPS).
  • Our AI service is designed to keep the words of your requests out of its logs. It scrambles your AI install ID before using or logging it, and sends OpenAI only the scrambled form.
  • Our payment providers handle payment details, not us.

No system is completely secure, and we can't guarantee the security of your information. In particular, today's HoloGlass software doesn't protect what's stored on it from people nearby, and your phone's connection to your HoloGlass isn't encrypted (see 3.5). You can help by:

  • keeping your phone locked;
  • deleting content you no longer need from your HoloGlass; and
  • turning your HoloGlass off when you're not using it.

If you think something is wrong, contact us at support@pranos.ai.

10. Your choices and rights in the United States

If you live outside the US, section 13 explains your rights. You can use the same request methods described here.

Choices you can make at any time

  • Pranos AI. It's optional. Turn it off in Settings › Pranos AI, and use New chat to clear your chat.
  • Phone permissions. You can turn off camera, photos, microphone, local network or location access for PRANOS in your phone's settings. Without the camera, type your HoloGlass's code instead. Without the mic, type your sign idea.
  • Data on your phone and HoloGlass:
    • delete items from your HoloGlass in the app before you forget it or delete the app;
    • delete signs;
    • clear the diagnostics log;
    • clear My details;
    • forget your HoloGlass; and
    • delete the app. This removes what's on your phone only.
  • Marketing emails. Use the unsubscribe link in any of our emails, or email us. We'll still send messages about your orders.
  • Selling, sharing and targeted ads. See section 6.
  • Cookies. See section 7.

Your privacy rights

We offer the following rights to all US residents, whether or not your state's law requires it. Depending on where you live, the law may also give you these rights. You can ask us to:

  • Know and access. Tell you what personal information we have about you, where it came from, why we use it and who we disclose it to, including, if you ask, a list of the specific third parties we've disclosed it to, and give you a copy in a portable format.
  • Correct inaccurate personal information.
  • Delete your personal information. The law lets us keep some information, for example to complete your order or to meet tax obligations. If we keep something, we'll tell you why.
  • Opt out of selling or sharing your personal information, of targeted advertising, and of profiling that has legal or similarly significant effects. We don't do that kind of profiling.
  • Limit the use of sensitive personal information. We use it only for the purposes the law allows (see section 11).
  • Appeal a decision we make about your request.

We won't discriminate against you for using these rights. We won't deny you goods or services, charge you a different price, or give you a different level of service because you used them.

How to make a request

To opt out of selling or sharing, you can also use Your Privacy Choices (https://pranos.ai/pages/data-sharing-opt-out) or GPC (section 6).

Verifying your identity.

  • For requests to know, correct or delete, we'll confirm it's you by matching information you give us with what we have, such as your email address, phone number and an order number.
  • For more sensitive requests, we may ask for more.
  • We'll use what you give us only to verify your request.
  • You don't need an account.
  • We don't verify opt-out requests unless we suspect fraud.

Authorized agents. Someone you authorize can make a request for you. We may ask for your signed permission, and ask you to verify your identity with us directly, unless the agent has a valid power of attorney.

Timing.

  • We'll confirm we received your request within 10 business days.
  • We'll respond within 45 days. If we need more time, we'll tell you why and take up to 45 more days.
  • We'll act on opt-out requests within 15 business days.

Appeals. If we decline your request, in whole or in part, we'll explain why. You can appeal by replying to our decision with "Appeal" in the subject line. We'll answer within the time your state's law requires, generally 45 to 60 days. If you're not satisfied with our answer, you can contact your state's attorney general.

About app and Pranos AI information

The current app has no accounts, and our AI service doesn't save your requests. So most app and Pranos AI information isn't linked to you:

  • On your phone. Most of it is on your phone, where you can see and delete it yourself.
  • Our AI service's logs. These are linked to a scrambled ID, not to your name or email, so we can't look them up by who you are.
    • Your app's diagnostics log (Settings › Diagnostics › Copy) contains reference numbers for your Pranos AI requests and reports. If you send it to us, we can use those numbers to find the matching entries and tell you what they contain.
    • Our log system can't delete single entries, including reports, before the log period ends. They're deleted automatically after 30 days.

11. More information for California residents

Connecticut and other states. Pranos doesn't collect, use or sell personal data to train large language models (see 3.6).

12. Children

Our products are meant for adults. You must be at least 18 to buy a HoloGlass or accept our Terms. Our website, app and Pranos AI aren't directed to children, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, or under the minimum age set by the law where you live. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us at support@pranos.ai and we'll delete it where we can. Entries in our AI service's logs are deleted automatically after 30 days (see section 10). If you make a sign about a child, such as a birthday sign, please include only what you'd be comfortable showing in public.

13. If you live outside the United States

Pranos is based in the United States, and we ship internationally. This section explains how this policy applies if you live elsewhere. The rest of the policy applies to you too: it describes what we collect, why we use it, who receives it and how long we keep it. If the law where you live gives you more rights than this policy describes, we'll honor them.

13.1 Your rights, wherever you live

Wherever you live, you can ask us to:

  • tell you whether we have personal information about you, give you access to it, and give you a copy, in a portable format where the law provides for it;
  • correct it;
  • delete it;
  • stop using it, or limit how we use it, in the cases your law provides; and
  • let you withdraw any consent you've given, at any time. Withdrawing doesn't affect what we did before.

You can also object to direct marketing at any time, and we'll stop.

How to make a request. Use the contact form at https://pranos.ai/pages/contact, email support@pranos.ai or call (415) 761-1328. Include the words "Privacy request" and the country you live in. We may need to confirm your identity first, for example by matching your email address and an order number. Someone you authorize can make a request for you where your law allows it.

Timing. We'll respond within the time your law requires: for example, within one month under the GDPR and the UK GDPR, and within 30 days under Canadian law. Where the law allows us more time, we'll tell you why we need it. We don't charge for requests unless the law allows a fee, for example for requests that are clearly unfounded or excessive.

Complaints. If you have a concern, please contact us first so we can try to put it right. You can also complain to the data protection authority where you live. The parts below name the authorities for several places.

13.2 Where your information is processed, and international transfers

Pranos Inc. is in the United States, so information you give us goes to the United States. We and most of our service providers store and process personal information there. Our Pranos AI service runs on Amazon Web Services in the United States (Virginia). Some providers also process personal information in other countries where they or their own providers operate, which may include Canada, countries in the EEA, the United Kingdom, Australia and Vietnam. The privacy laws of these countries may differ from those where you live.

When personal information from the EEA, the UK or Switzerland goes to a country that isn't recognized as protecting it adequately, we rely on:

  • a provider's certification under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and, where they apply, its UK Extension and the Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. You can check whether a company is certified at https://www.dataprivacyframework.gov;
  • for providers that aren't certified, the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, with the UK's International Data Transfer Addendum and the adjustments Swiss law requires; or
  • another safeguard or exception that the law allows.

You can ask us for a copy of, or more information about, the safeguards we rely on (see 13.1). Where the law of another country requires particular safeguards for these transfers, we take the steps it requires.

13.3 Automated decisions

We don't make decisions about you based only on automated processing that have legal or similarly significant effects, with one possible exception: our fraud-prevention provider screens orders automatically, and an order that looks risky may be held or cancelled (see 3.1). If that happens to you, you can contact us to ask how the decision was made, give your point of view, and have a person review it. Pranos AI's automatic checks only affect whether and how a sign is made (see 3.6).

13.4 European Economic Area and United Kingdom

This part applies if you're in the EEA or the UK, under the GDPR and the UK GDPR.

Who's responsible. Pranos Inc. is the controller of your personal information. You can reach us using the details in section 1.

Representatives. Pranos is appointing representatives in the EU and the UK under Article 27 of the GDPR and the UK GDPR. Until we post their details here, please contact us directly at support@pranos.ai.

You can object to direct marketing and withdraw consent at any time. You also have the right not to be subject to decisions based only on automated processing that have legal or similarly significant effects (see 13.3). To use your rights, see 13.1.

Complaints. You can complain to the data protection authority in the EEA country where you live or work, or where you think the law was broken. The European Data Protection Board lists them at https://www.edpb.europa.eu/about-edpb/our-members_en. In the UK, the authority is the Information Commissioner's Office: https://ico.org.uk.

What you must give us. To buy from us, you need to give us your name, contact details, shipping address and payment details, because we can't fulfil your order without them. Everything else is optional, although some features won't work without it. For example, Pranos AI needs your request to make a sign.

Retention and cookies. Section 8 explains how long we keep each kind of information. Section 7 explains cookies and your choices.

13.5 Switzerland

If you live in Switzerland, the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) applies. Everything in 13.4 also applies to you, with these points:

  • Transfers. For transfers to the United States, we rely on a provider's certification under the Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework where it has one, on the Standard Contractual Clauses with the adjustments Swiss law requires, or on another safeguard or exception the FADP allows. Section 13.2 lists the countries where your information may be processed.
  • Your rights. You can ask for access to your personal information, including a copy in a portable format, and for correction or deletion. You can object to how we use it, and withdraw consent at any time.
  • Complaints. You can contact the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) at https://www.edoeb.admin.ch.

13.6 Canada

If you live in Canada, the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and, where they apply, provincial privacy laws cover how we handle your personal information.

  • Consent. We collect, use and disclose your personal information with your consent, or as the law otherwise permits. Depending on how sensitive it is, your consent may be express, such as tapping Allow for Pranos AI, or implied, such as when you give us your address so we can ship your order. You can withdraw consent at any time, subject to legal or contractual limits and reasonable notice. We'll tell you what that means for you, for example if we then can't fulfil an order.
  • Storage outside Canada. We and our service providers store and process your personal information in the United States and other countries (see 13.2). While it's there, courts, law enforcement and national security authorities of those countries may be able to access it under their laws.
  • Access and correction. You can ask to see your personal information and ask us to correct it (see 13.1).
  • Who's accountable. You can reach the person responsible for privacy at Pranos at support@pranos.ai, with "Privacy officer" in the subject, or at our mailing address in section 1.
  • Complaints. You can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at https://www.priv.gc.ca, or to your provincial privacy commissioner.

Quebec. If you live in Quebec, Quebec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector, as amended by Law 25, also applies.

  • As Quebec law provides, the person with the highest authority at Pranos is our person in charge of the protection of personal information. You can reach them at support@pranos.ai.
  • You have the rights described in 13.1, including the right to have personal information we collected from you sent to you, or to someone you choose, in a structured, commonly used technological format.
  • If we make a decision about you based only on automated processing, we'll tell you, and you can ask about the information and main factors used and ask a person to review it (see 13.3).
  • Our website uses technologies that can identify, locate or profile you, such as the advertising cookies described in section 7. You can refuse or turn them off using the cookie choices in section 7.
  • You can complain to the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec at https://www.cai.gouv.qc.ca.

13.7 Australia

If you live in Australia, the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 may apply to how we handle your personal information.

  • What we collect and why. Sections 3 to 8 describe the kinds of personal information we collect and hold, how we collect and hold it, and why.
  • Overseas disclosure. We're based in the United States, and we disclose personal information to service providers in the United States and the other countries listed in 13.2.
  • Anonymity. You can browse our site and use most of the PRANOS app without telling us who you are. We need your name and contact details to fulfil orders and answer support requests.
  • Access and correction. You can ask to access or correct your personal information (see 13.1). We aim to respond within 30 days.
  • Complaints. Contact us first at support@pranos.ai. We'll look into your complaint and aim to respond within 30 days. If you're not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at https://www.oaic.gov.au.

13.8 Brazil

If you live in Brazil, the Lei Geral de Proteção de Dados (LGPD) applies. Pranos Inc. is the controller.

  • Legal bases. We rely on the legal bases that match those in 13.4: performance of a contract, our legitimate interests, your consent, compliance with legal obligations, and the regular exercise of rights in legal proceedings.
  • Your rights. You can ask us to confirm whether we process your personal data; give you access to it; correct incomplete, inaccurate or out-of-date data; anonymize, block or delete data that's unnecessary, excessive or processed unlawfully; port your data to another provider; delete data we process based on your consent; tell you which public and private entities we share your data with; and tell you about the option of not giving consent and what that means. You can withdraw your consent at any time, and ask for a review of decisions made only by automated processing (see 13.3).
  • International transfers. Your data is transferred to the United States and the other countries in 13.2. We rely on the grounds the LGPD provides for international transfers, such as where the transfer is necessary to perform our contract with you, and on contractual safeguards with our providers.
  • Complaints. You can petition the Autoridade Nacional de Proteção de Dados (ANPD) at https://www.gov.br/anpd.
  • Contact. You can contact us about your data, including as our point of contact under the LGPD, at support@pranos.ai.

13.9 Japan, South Korea, Singapore, India and other countries

If you live elsewhere, including in Japan, South Korea, Singapore or India, your local law may give you rights over your personal information, such as rights to access, correct, delete or port it, to withdraw consent, and to complain to your local data protection authority. We'll honor the rights your law gives you. To make a request, see 13.1.

  • Japan. When we provide your personal information to service providers outside Japan (see 13.2), we take the measures Japan's Act on the Protection of Personal Information requires. You can ask us for information about those measures and about the personal information protection systems of the countries involved.
  • South Korea. Your personal information is transferred over the internet, when you use our services, to the service providers named in section 5, in the United States and the other countries in 13.2. They use it for the purposes in section 4 and keep it for the periods in section 8. You can refuse or withdraw consent to optional processing, such as marketing cookies, at any time. If you do, you can still buy from us and use the app.
  • Singapore. You can reach our data protection contact at support@pranos.ai.
  • India. You can contact us about grievances at support@pranos.ai. You can also nominate another person to exercise your rights if you die or become unable to. If we don't resolve your grievance, you may be able to complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
