We recommend using HoloGlass while parked: at events, at pop-ups, or on private property where displays are allowed.

Check the rules where you live and drive before you turn HoloGlass on. They cover things like window coverings, outward-facing displays and advertising.

Inspect the mount

Make sure the HoloGlass unit, mount, screen and cables are secure before you power on.

From the driver’s seat, check that your mirrors and cameras still show what you need to see.

Park somewhere displays are allowed, and follow local traffic and advertising rules.

Before you drive, switch the Pranos app to Driving at the top of Now playing, with your phone connected to your HoloGlass.

HoloGlass is an aftermarket display for your car: a screen made for one window, lit from inside the car by the HoloGlass unit. This is how we ask you to use it. It’s general guidance, not legal advice.

1. Parked and Driving

Play video only while parked. Stopped in traffic isn’t parked. Before you drive, switch the Pranos app to Driving, with your phone connected to your HoloGlass. A playing video pauses on the frame it’s on, and a photo or sign stays up. You set the switch yourself, on each phone you use. Driving covers what the Pranos app plays. It doesn’t control HDMI mirroring or the HoloGlass unit’s other inputs. And it doesn’t make a display allowed where local rules say otherwise.

2. Visibility

Many cars keep the views a driver needs through side mirrors or a rear camera, but window and visibility rules differ. Take the screen out whenever the rules call for a clear window.

3. Your content

Use only photos, logos and videos you have the right to show. Using HoloGlass for a business? Local sign and advertising rules may apply too.

4. Local rules

Rules can differ by state, county and city, and they change. Your state’s motor vehicle agency or your city can tell you what applies to you.

Quick answers.

Can I keep HoloGlass on while I drive?

Not with video: play video only while parked. Before you drive, switch the Pranos app to Driving. Some places restrict any display while the car moves, even a still image. Check your local rules, and turn HoloGlass off where it isn’t allowed.

Does Pranos control what is displayed?

No. You choose what HoloGlass shows, and Pranos doesn’t review your photos, videos or signs before they play. Pranos AI is designed to decline some signs, such as police look-alikes, but you decide what goes on your window.

Is the screen transparent?

No. The screen is opaque, for a brighter image. Take it out when you’re not using HoloGlass.

Parked and Driving

Safety, built into the Pranos app.

Before you drive, switch the Pranos app to Driving, with your phone connected to your HoloGlass. You set the switch yourself, at the top of Now playing, on each phone you use. It never changes on its own.

Parked: videos, photos, GIFs and signs play. Driving: a playing video pauses on the frame it’s on, and a photo or sign stays up.

In Driving, the app holds what’s on your HoloGlass.

Switch while your phone is connected to your HoloGlass. If it isn’t, the app can’t hold what’s showing.
The switch is on each phone. If more than one phone uses your HoloGlass, set each one to Driving.
GIF signs move while the app is set to Parked, and hold still in Driving.
New uploads are off until you switch back to Parked. One that’s already sending finishes and waits in your Library or playlist.
Pranos AI’s Auto-play is off until you turn it on. In Driving, a new sign waits on its card: switch back to Parked, then tap Play on HoloGlass.
When you’re parked, switch back to Parked with your phone connected. A video that was playing plays on from where it paused.

Stopped in traffic isn’t parked. Keep the app in Driving until you’ve parked. The Driving switch helps, but it doesn’t make a display allowed where local rules say otherwise.

The safeguards.

The Pranos app’s GIFs tab: Paste GIF, From Photos, and the note: No flashing GIFs. Every GIF is checked on your phone first. One that flashes too fast can’t go on a car window.

Our tools and Pranos AI don’t create flashing effects.

Every GIF is checked on your phone before it can go on a sign. Videos you upload aren’t checked, so don’t play ones that flash.

They can look like emergency lights. Pranos AI follows the same rule. Your own photos, videos and GIFs aren’t changed, so don’t show ones that look like emergency lights.

Front Windshield: parked only.

Roll the screen up and put it away before you drive.
Pranos AI declines police look-alikes.

It’s designed to keep police, emergency and traffic-control wording, like “Police,” “Pull over,” “911” or a “Stop” command, off your sign, and it leaves out emergency emoji.
Run it with the back seat empty.

The picture crosses the back seat to reach the window, so someone sitting there would block it and look into the light.
Driving covers what the Pranos app plays.

It doesn’t control HDMI mirroring or the HoloGlass unit’s other inputs. Whatever you show, the same rules apply: play video only while parked, and follow your local rules.
